New bike, need advice

Hey everyone, new to the forum here and to bikes in general.
Just managed to get a '82 750sc off marketplace in a trade however it's not in working condition and had to get it towed to my place. Not sure where to start on getting it running again. From what I know the previous owner pulled out the battery and the guy claimed it needed a new recharging system. Also looks like the front suspension needs some love.

Any advice for a newbie like me would be very much appreciated.

Watch a few episodes of The Bearded Mechanic on Youtube. He sort of specializes in finding old, abandoned bikes and getting them back up and running. That'll give you the idea of the steps involved and where to start.
