I was late to actual street motorcycling. In my early youth I was pretty poor, and rode friends dirt bikes, and all my friends rode street bikes later. I could never affrod one as a recreational thing until; my late 20's, by then I was married, and it seemed my dream of riding was always pushed back until I was approaching 50. The Honda CB line from the 70's has always been a favorite motorcycle. I even had a non-running CB500/4 I got in my 20's (before marriage), but I wound up parting it out.

Fast forward to today. I got my street license at 50, and the last 16 years been riding cruisers (Honda VTX and Harley Ultra Limited) I also got a box o'parts of a '76 CB750K; the engine had Pods and drag pipes, and a '77 CB750F SS framew, front fork set up with 6" extended tubes, plus a tote of all sorts of thinks. Bought that box in 2015, and spent the spare time not working putting it together. Had to put a lot of parts on for other bikes to make things work. The frame had been chopped up and set for a good rake. Geometry is perfect for the 6" extension. With a help of a friend who is a master mechanic (I had him install the engine and check it out & fire it up), I just got it running.

I nowe have to get the carb re-jetted, which is very confusing to me, but I suspect it will be fun...

The next to last pic is my buddy the mechanic after the first ride, the last one is me goofing around before I took it out for the maiden voyage down the street and back.

Nice work! Persistence and help from a friend paid dividends.
Bike looks real cool. Now its time to enjoy the ride; and keep us up to date with the progress with pictures.
 
I've been used to my VTX and Geezer Glide for years now...this is a whole different experience. The extended forks are a lot different. And small size is weird. But the amazing thing is how much power the CB750 has..
