Just sharing my progress on my 78 CB750K.

Its been a work in progress for the last three months. Backyard find for $400. Before pic attached. Every bolt including the engine was redone by me.

Any questions or sharing what I've learned along the way let me know. I'm definitely not a pro, but since I've done all the work, I can help as much as possible.

Cheers!

Where to begin....I'll attach some pics I guess.

Its soooo much it's hard to begin. I'll write up as much as possible later on a computer.

A ton of hours blasting parts, powder coating, cleaning ..replaced pistons because rings were completely seized, top end rebuild, honing cylinders, carb rebuild, measuring parts for correct tolerances, new clutch packs, points, coils, starter rebuild, full gasket sets for everything, customized factory top triple tree for clip ons, Cerakoted a bunch of parts burnt bronze, took frame and other parts to bare metal to prep and paint., Electrolysis on tank for rust removal plus other methods, sealing tank internally...the list is soooo long...rebuilt and powder coated front forks, new steering head bearings, master cylinder, front caliper, all brake pads, refinish front rotor, custom fiberglass seat made, refinish rims with new spokes, trued and balanced. Electronic reg/rectifier, starter solenoid, fuse box, new cafe hoop rear lights, custom front gauge mount. Custom tank piece made on my 3d printer to replace the tank door lock. Now it's a flush mount button to release., New clutch pressure plate, 4 into 1 exhaust, uni air filters..every bolt refurbished by blasting, etc..cut off center stand mount, cut off original seat mounts, etc

Your list sounds exactly like what I am doing right now! Just bought a '73 CB750 for $200 that has been in a barn for over 40 years. The lower case was cracked right in front of the sprocket... of course! So I needed to get a set of engine cases. Bought slightly oversized pistons and the barrels should be done here any day. I did this very same thing back in 1975 when I removed a 72 engine out my stock frame and dropped it into a John Harman rigid frame (beautiful frame btw. unfortunately, that bike was stolen along with everything else my wife and I owned). Not sure which route to go with this engine/frame. I am too old to be bending over to reach the handlebars! Will make a custom set of handlebars. Will most likely grab another front wheel with a rotor, relace a larger rim to it, machine a couple parts to adapt my sprocket to it for a rear wheel. Pictures are old ... not in such good shape.

That is inspiring. I'm working on my 1979 DOHC and trying to unseize and engine. I'll most likely do much of the same work that you did. Great stuff.
