Let's see your CB750

Looked high/low for a SOHC K6 model in Red... was my very first street bike. Wanted one that was unmolested and not north of $12k. A Unicorn.
Went with my 2nd motorcycle.. a '80 DOHC in Black... unmolested. Took me about 2yr to find this one. Will ride it this summer and do a full restoration come next Winter. I'm a Happy Boy!!

G'day guys,

just got my first Honda this week.....and I'm still trying to work out exactly what year model it is. Frame number is RC01-1000770, and engine is RC04-2219544

Bought it from a guy at work who wasn't doing anything with her, and I needed a new hobby, after getting out of old cars (which I've had my whole life). I've got 2 other bikes - an 01 Suzuki GSX1400 and an old 1984 Yamaha Virago XV1000. The Honda looks like it will be fun though. I've just started pulling bits off, and the carbies are on the bench as we speak.
Not used to old Hondas, and it's really hard looking for bits when you're not sure what it's meant to have. The damn headlight looked wrong, and when I removed it, she had a Yamaha bucket.....go figure. Anyway.....here's some pics. The whole album so far is here - http://s216.photobucket.com/user/71beeman/library/Honda cb750

Gday mate I have that bike sitting in my shed right now, I have been restoring it over the last couple of years. The fuel tank had bad rust which I have now fixed by a complete overhaul of the tank, I did rebuild the original carbs and got her running. Not sure if it was you I bought her off or some guy in between.

Got her about 2 months ago, cleaned and rebuilt the carbs. Needs brakes rebuilt and cam chain tensioner are on order. Had one identical to this one in the early 90's and have regretted selling it for many years.

I basically did the same as you. I had a '79 Anniversary bike back in the 90's. Then I got into HD's for about 30 years. Now, at age 74, I'm back on another '79 CB750L. ON a side note, looks like we both need to claen our camera lenses.

1972 HONDA CB 750 K2
I've had this bike since 1973
In that time I've made the following changes:

I had the Valve Cover Chrome Plated (Required Engine Removal)
Installed Pull-Back Handlebars
Installed Crossover TT Pipes
Installed Kickstand Stop Bar To Set Kickstand Height
Painted Tank, Front Fender, And Side Covers With Silver-Mist Pearl Paint
Installed Oil Cooler
Installed K&N Air Filters
Re-Jetted The Carburators With The Largest Jets
Raised The Carburater Jet Needles To The Highest Position
Installed Oil Pressure Gage
Installed Electronic Ignition
Replaced Front Forks With (Forks By Frank) 2 1/2 Inches Longer
Installed Racing Clutch Springs
Laced A 5:10X16 Inch Harley Rim And Spokes To The Rear Hub. Laced Them Offset To Avoid The Tire Rubbing Against The Chain Guard
Installed Progressive Suspension Rear Shocks
Installed Shinko 10 SR712R 131X90X16" Harley Tire On The Rear Wheel
Installed A Shinko 10 SR712F 100X90X19" Tire On The Front Wheel
Welded A Larger, Thicker Plate On The Kickstand
Installed An O-Ring Chain
Installed LED Headlight, Signal Lights, And Taillight
I designed the Sissy Bar and carrying bag, and my father made it from Naugahyde on his upholstery sewing machine.
