Quick update on my CB750 — just heard back from the mechanic @drmkmotorsports after chasing down a front-end wobble.
Turned out the forks were full of sludge. After a full teardown, clean, and fresh oil, it’s riding smooth again.

He took it out for a test ride and sent me the video — runs great, pulls strong.
Even better, he was repping a TrackSwag CB750 shirt while riding it, which gave me a good laugh.

Feels good to have it dialed in before the upcoming long ride from Michigan to California later this month.
Vroom, Vroom, Vroom!!! Awesome!!!

First ride after CB550 front forks, rear swingarm, and shortened rear fender.
Rode smooth, no rubbing of the fender.
I'm 212lb and rode nicely.

So I bought a 78 cb750 ss F yesterday. The owner wouldn't let me test drive it before I bought it. I should have walked away. It doesn't idle at all. The carbs seem to be out of sync or something. It shows 12,000 miles but I don't know.
Im wondering if anyone knows of a mc mechanic near east tn that works on old bikes? Open to any suggestions?
Thanks

Here is my new to me 78 cb750f. Just bought it 10/8/25. 12,000 miles. Its kinda been a bummer because it wasn't supposed to need anything other than a good cleanup which I was good for. However, it has an issue running down the road. I have enough projects but now I have another. Gotta ride it or the wife will say I told you so. I hope to resolve the issues before long. Watching lots of youtube on these.

Working on a 3rd one, probably time to start thinking about selling one
I don't know, might be the perfect time to buy another. At one point I had an '82 Shovelhead Tourglide torn down to bare frame with no prospects to resurrect it of over a year. Dude called me by accident trying to sell a bike to a mutual friend. I ended up buying it so I'd have something to ride until I got the Shovel done.

My suggestion, and you might have already done this, is to make a dedicated post. Describe the issues, include pics, and be patient. This site can be a bit slow but you'll get more attention and better responses that way.
A lot of us are also on the SOHC/4 site too if you haven't tried there. It is marginally more active.

Yes I plan to do that but I guess I have to post 5 or six times before I can start a dedicated post. Thanks for the heads up about the other forum.
