Lead substitute

No, no need, but make sure fuel lines are ethanol proof. Cheap fix if they're not.
 
One of the best things about old Japanese bikes - the valve seats are made from really hard metal.
All designed to run on unleaded forever.
Ethanol in the petrol is still a problem.
Apart from possibly rotting fuel lines and other bits, it readily absorbs water from the atmosphere, which will then start to rust out your tank from the inside.
