K7 weird electrical problem

My k7 starts and runs fine, however just lately when I turn the lights on it cuts out - all electrics are dead. It has 12.8 volts to switch and continuity through. After a while, the warning lights come back on and bike restarts, sometimes lights will come on with no effect, sometimes they cause it to cut out again.
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?

I would check all the light connections. It sounds like a short in the lights, could be a bad bulb as well.
