Is there a switch to turn on brake light when the foot brake is applied? if so where is it?

as indicated the black switch that is attached to the pedal by a spring....
(on some bikes the switch may be under the plastic side cover in the DOHC models as per B&W attachment or even mounted behind the footpeg plate...)

Thank You BAHNST, with the Information you gave me I was able to quickly locate the switch and repair the problem. I really appreciate that you went out of your way to send the picture and illustration. I lubricated the switch down shaft and also made sure not to twist the switch housing while checking the adjusting nut. I feel a little silly for not putting in the effort to locate the switch myself.
