Hi all,
First of all, a big thank you to everyone who have given me some help along the way.
A bit of history, I used to have an F2 in 1979 but unfortunately being young and a bit of a luntaic, I managed to smash it up and write it off.
I've had a few bikes since then including a CB750KZ, CBX250, Tamaha XS400, XS500 and now a new Royal Enfield 450 Guerrilla which is great fun and a 1998 Yamaha R1 which I have had from new (most of it anyway)!!
Now to the CB750F2, I have attached a couple of photos, but there are still three jobs to go which should be done by next weekend (30/08/2025).
These being:
1. New seat strap.
2. Two rubber mounts for the rear mudguard.
3. Rear brake hose.
The paint is black with a hint of multicoloured flacke in it and the 'decals' are actually painted in by a great guy called James King Paints at Yeovil in Somerset, UK.
The only thing that is bugging me is that the bike leans over a long way. Way too much. Hence the wooden block under the stand.
I have straightened the lug on the frame and got rid of any slop in the clevis mount

which has reduced the lean a little.
The sidestand (kick stand) does have a bend in it. Should it be straight? Perhaps someone has put too much weight on it?
Fork and shock lengths are standard.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you again.

My 77 F2 is straight and doesnt lean that much on the side stand . Nice paint , when I had mine done the painter offered to paint the decals , but I had already purchased them

Thank you for this. I'll take the stand off today and get it straightened and powder coated.
I bought decals too but my painter said they weren't very good and said painted is better.
I'm happy.
Thanks again

Take it that's a US import as the UK market bikes don't have the rubber flap on the side stand? anyway I had lots of problems with my front forks after sending them for chroming then the firm went bust and I couldn't get the right replacements, see my fork threads for the full story.
After getting a set of the correct forks which are shorter than the K7 forks I had fitted as a temporary measure the lean was better but still a bit much to my mind but maybe that's how they are?
Bike looks great by the way!

Mines the same and it is an american import . My original 77 didnt have it , but it did have some sort of tang . I think they were meant to kick the stand up if you forgot when you rode off

Perhaps only Americans take off with the side stand down as they were the only ones fitted with the rubber flap? Anyway joking aside I have a suitable wooden block which can be caried under the seat.

Had a laverda 1200 for many a year and that is what I had to do . You could only use the sidestand on concrete , even sunk/cut into asphalt . Turfed it in the end and only use the centrestand

A shop I used to patronize when I rode a different brand sold some high impact plastic cut into the same shape as those old surfer footprint gas pedals. I tied a string on one and stowed in the fairing pocket or you could easily stick it in your back pocket.

AliExpress (and others, I'm sure) do a range of enlarged sidestand "feet" which simply bolt on to the existing foot. As well as extending the length of the sidestand, they increase the "footprint" and help to prevent the sidestand digging in on soft ground. They are dirt cheap - it would be worth buying several of different sizes and experimenting. They can foul the N/S exhaust pipe when the side stand is retracted, but of course on an F2 that won't be a problem. Nice bike, by the way!
