Hello everyone, my bike was leaking from the ignition cover (not to be confused with the silver timing cover in the picture) so I decided to change the gasket. However, when I pulled it apart to put the gasket on, I had to pull some gears off of each other under this cover to put the gasket on. There was a big gear presumably connected to the crankshaft, and then 3 (or maybe 2, I don’t remember exactly) progressively smaller gears to the top right.
My question is- does it matter if I put the gears on different teeth since I pulled them off each other and back on? I’m not exactly sure of the function behind these gears (or the names) and if it matters where the teeth meet. Thank you all, apologies for my lack of knowledge, just want to make sure my engine doesn’t grenade if I messed with the timing or something.😥
