Pic below shows the oil viscosity recommendation from the '77 CB750A owner's manual. I'd like to use synthetic oil made for motorcycles in my CB750A Hondamatic. But I'm a tad worried about those internal clutches. Has anyone in the forum used and can vouch for using synthetic oil in your Hondamatic without causing problems with the clutches?

Thanks,
PM

Any synthetic oil that carries the JASO-MA or JASO-MA2 certifications on the bottle, and is in the correct viscosities, should be just fine.

If you're cheap, Shell Rotella T6 diesel oil meets the certifications...
Been using synthetics, most recently SuperTech 20W-50 Full Synthetic Motorcycle Oil, in my Yamahas (XV920 and XVZ1300 Venture) for years with no problems but wondered if the Hondamatic clutches might not like it. Thanks for all the feedback.
