Honda CB750K(Z) 1979.
The project has Mikuni VM29SS flatslide carburetors from a Suzuki GSXR 750 (1985).
The situation is starting to be such that the engine can be started after a comprehensive engine overhaul and the question is the injectors and adjustments.
It would be a good idea to get the injectors to the correct size and the adjustments to be correct before final adjustment.
The project bike has free-flow air filters without a box and a fairly straight 4-2-1 exhaust system.
The internet says the following:
- Main Jet: Often size class #120–#140 (e.g. #125, #130).
- Pilot Jet: About #25–#35.
- Needle: In standard hook position (usually in the middle).
- Air nozzle: Varies by model.
- Float height: Check your bike's specifications (e.g. 14–16 mm).
Does anyone have experience with a setup like this or have the know-how to advise on what size nozzles and adjustments are worth to start with?
