Another motorcycle newbie with a 1980 Honda CB750c is trying to run pods on his CV carbs.
But before we get into this conversation, let me state what has been done. The carbs have a stage 3 kit from dynojet. Everything idles At 1200 and the carbs are synced perfectly. But the only problem I’m having is hanging idle. I’ve messed with air/fuel screws by setting it at 3 full turns out but not much of a difference made. Valves are set at the spec per manual on the looser side and no leaks coming from the boots. The only other culprit I’m thinking as of now is the timing. I haven’t had a chance to check it and set it, but it’s possible that it might be sticking on the advancing position or just not timed properly at all. Who knows.
If it doesn’t work out, I might just put on the stock air box, but would you guys think it would be OK to run a stock air box on a bigger Jet system in the carbs? If not, I have the stock carbs and don’t mind putting that back in as well. But how would it run with the 4-1exhaust. When it had the stock airbox, carbs, and 4-2 exhaust, everything worked normally fine.
I just wanted to give the infamous pod filters a shot and see if I can make it work
