Free 1993 750 Night Hawk Help Needed

all the nighthawk tanks i have seen have a screw in tap like mine, so are these 1992 etc nighthawk tank pictures wrong and people advertising 1992 -3 tanks for sale selling the wrong tank?

As we said above, "The tank's bung & thread sizes are odd on '91 - '03 CB750 Nighthawk." So yes, '91 - '03 CXB750 Nighthawk petcocks attach via a threaded bung on the tank. That should be clear. The threaded bung on your FZ tank is very likely different thread pitch, length & OD. By the same token, the petcocks from any of our '72 - '75 Kawasaki Z1's won't fit our late-model CB750 Nighthawks, because the bungs are different OD & thread pitch. Too, your FZ petcock is not likely to fit Z1's either & vice versa.

If you could state the bung size & thread pitch on your FZ tank we'd have facts to work with.

We have no idea what "[the] people advertising 1992 -3 tanks for sale..." are selling without seeing them. Links?

If you have knowledge of a specific manual petcock known to fit the unique bung dimensions (OD, length & thread pitch) of '91 - '03 CB750 Nighthawk tanks, there's a lot of members here that would like to know. Anything else is irrelevant.

so just measure the hole in the tank and put some thread gauges in the hole and buy a fuel tap the same diameter and thread pitch . i am not draining my tank to measure the tap size and thread pitch, why should a japanese tank have a specific bastard size thread on a few tanks

You've clearly not tried to find a manual petcock for late model ('91 - '03) CB750 Nighthawks.

i have been back to my bike and my mistake it is external threaded and the pet cock i put on has the hexagon nut, i am now intrigued to see a picture of the special nighthawk arrangement and why a normal pet cock with hex nut won't fit.
