frames

hi all,first time posting so please bear with me if questions sound a bit strange,i would like to know if there were a great deal of changes made to the frames from say 1976 to 1980 i am thinking about a cafe racer but unsure as to fitment of tanks as early bikes seemed to have straight bottomed tanks and later had what seems like a curve at the rear and as they are not a common sight around my area i cant get to look for myself,cheers john.

Frame is completely different in 79 on up as that is the start of the dohc motor. 75 and 76 should be same and 77 and 78 should be same.

hi dirtdigger,thanks for your reply,i have been offered a 1983 model in fair condition i hope to look at it this weekend my first post should have read up to 1983 frames,if i get this bike i was going to modify to cafe race but most of the ones i see done are earlier bikes which brought me to the question i asked mainly to look at tank and seat options,regards john.(the bikes i normaly ride are brit iron but age dictates electric start so i hope to go for the best make)
