Anyone know a UK source for K6 type fork shrouds please ?
They're the ones where the indicators attach just to the rear of the headlamp mount bolts.
I know that EMGO make pretty decent pattern copies in Taiwan, but they don't seem to be available in the UK.
David Silver Spares stock the painted K1 type and the chromed K2 type, but not the K3 to K6 type I'm after.
The only UK outlet I know to that offers them is the Classic Bike Shop at Redditch, and they're awaiting stock, and have been for a while now.
Another pair of used ones have just popped up on ebay, but they're displaying classic rot out just like the pair I've got.

Thanks for that.
I think EMGO only ship them as pairs, so dealers won't sell them individually.
I'm wary of buying anything from outside the UK, because Customs and Excise add 20% VAT onto whatever you pay and then the carrier charges an extra £9 handling fee.
So the Tamiya 1/6 scale CB750 plastic model kit I bought a while ago cost £143 from Japan, but I got hit with another £37 VAT fee before they would deliver it.
Kind of works out expensive that way.
Hence my desire to find a UK based stockist.
No doubt as my rebuild progresses, I'll probably end up biting the bullet and buying from CMSNL (and I think a German outfit is also advertising them, too)

Many thanks !
Those ones are made by the Motorcycle Seat Factory in Vietnam.
I believe they started off beating steel seat pans to shape from recycled oil barrels.
Looks like they're coming along in leaps and bounds now !
I think I've got one of their replica rear mudguards here ( bought NOS from a guy who decided to fit a genuine Honda item instead).
TBH, it's not as good quality as the original, and seems to have been laser welded rather than the correct spot welds.
Good enough for me mind you, but my project is a K1- K4 hybrid and will never be worth big dollars.
Oh dear ! I seem to have wandered off topic on my own thread !
Well on the subject of the fork shrouds, it would now seem that two Asian manufacturers are producing the K6 type, but nobody retails them in the UK.

As I couldnt get any for my F2 , I did consider the vietnam option . I dont know if you could call it bad fortune , or not , but they dont do F2 only moulded seat vinyl ( which I may get ) . I will need a front guard at some stage as the rust has eaten a bit of mine right were you can see it . I made my own headlight brackets from the cut off set the bike came with , so hopefully they last , as trying to source some cost me a lot for no luck

From the generation of bikes the F2/F3 came from, I'm thinking that if you're serious about making it at least look original, you should be looking at early GoldWing headlamp brackets, or maybe CB750K7.
I'm not claiming that they're the same, but they might just be similar enough to be modified into something that will pass as the original F2 items.
As for mudguards, I'm thinking about bikes that had the same type of fork bottoms, which I believe originally appeared on the first GoldWing.
So maybe a mudguard off something from that Honda generation (like the CX500) might serve as a donor to create a F2 replica ?

I am not 100 poocent sure , but I think if it has these two horns , then it might have similar brackets/shrouds/ears . I think the CBX1000 is the same , but as usual spare are either rediculous or non existant

F2 fork shroud (one) for sale on ebay UK at present.
Cheap, but it's painted black.
And I doubt if the seller will post to Australia

I`m over it . I spent way to much to buy some immaculate K7-8 ones hoping they would work , but alas , no . Now I cannot even sell them . I am just going to use what I have and if I ever had to change them , I will just use some off the shelf bracket

I fitted a rear mudguard on my K6, sourced from Vietnam. It looks good. It was very difficult to fit. It is slightly the wrong profile making it a very, very tight fit between the rear frame loop mounts. It took a lot of leverage and great care to avoid scratches. I am checking it regularly, as I'm a bit concerned about stress as it is under quite a bit of compression between the mounts. Can't recommend.

Interesting !
I've got a K1 type rear mudguard here also made in Vietnam.
Bought it cheap of Ebay as apparently the seller had "decided to fit a genuine item instead "
I soon found out why.
About 10mm too wide where it fits between the frame ends.
However, adjustments with a large Carver clamp and two blocks of wood soon fixed that.
Fits perfectly now !
But I'm still not keen on the tiny blobs of laser weld that are holding it together.

I was tempted to try , but now having second thoughts . Sad to hear that they dont fit well after having paid for them , but glad now I know , that I wont do the same
