My CB750F1 has no original paintwork left.
It needs painting from bare metal/plastic
I'm not wild about the Sulfur Yellow colour that it left the factory with, I'm more attracted to the Orange paint scheme the CB750F0.
But I'm not exactly sure about how to achieve this.
Apparently it's a metal flake Orange finish.
Is there some sort of paint code number that will give the exact colour mix and paint system ?
Single colour coat or lacquer over base system ?
I'm out of my depth here.
But willing to learn.
I'm not inclined to just dump the job onto some so called "expert "
I've done that before, and the results simply didn't live up to what had been promised.
One positive thing, I'm based in the UK, and apparently motorcycle paintwork jobs come much cheaper here than in the USA.

Good luck with that, I recently completed a resto on a VFR750, ordered the paint using the Honda paint code and it came out nothing like the original colour which meant I had to paint the whole bike, the end result was a nice red but nothing like the red it was originally!
When I get to the paint stage I'll give my friendly local paint guy a shout and see what he says, it's a candy red, something I haven't done before, only tank and seat hump as the side panels are black on the F1.

Many thanks again.
And I've already discovered that it's not Sunburst Orange, (dunno where I read that) it's Flake Sunrise Orange, and this colour was used on some of the K series bikes, possibly the K4 ?
And possibly the same colour as the CB250G5 that I owned about 30 years ago.
That might make finding a colour match easier, considering that amount of money some people are pumping into their K series restorations.
One option would be just picking a similar colour from some modern car, and just using that .
I seem to have a thing about Orange bikes

Yes when I painted my Chevy truck I wanted War Bonnet Yellow which is a Corvette colour metallic gold but nobody in UK could cross refeence the paint code so I ended up with a Peugot colour which was the best we could find in his colour book.
I have a thing about red bikes so mine will be red when I reach that stage, still got to get the rust out of the tank then blast and epoxy prime after I've sealed the inside against ethanol attack!
