Well got her out for a shakedown ride. My son rode my old FJ1200 and this is the first time we have ever gotten to ride together! I did need to replace front tire shrader valve and it is holding pressure fine now. The bike ran great, idled well but throttle opener still needed backing off some more which i did after we got back. In and around the hills of the piney woods of East Texs i just stayed in 2nd and enjoyed the hell out of my afternoon. We were running about 65 to 75 with no issues other than some vibration above 70 ish. Brakes seemed on the soft side so pads and new fluid are in order, front line seemed ok.. we did 120 miles and i went from full tank, visually and on gage to just above the low mark on the gage. I refilled tank to starting level and it took 3.4 gallons. My trip odmeter was not woeking right as it said we did 17 miles. My odomter and the fjs were both saying 120
So off to a good start. Brakes up next and looking foreward to many more miles.

You were doing 70mph in 2nd?! Tell me that's a CB750A.

Glad to hear the ride report! Get the boy to take some 'in the wind' pics of you next time out, or have him ride on ahead a mile or two and set up in a sweeping corner to take some vid of you going by.

Of course!!! To both yes a 750a and to getting some shots i"m just not sure how to upload video.

Still looking forward to it- even a 20s clip of a CB750 is more than we usually see.
