How many people have made a harness that they can hook to several points on the top of their motorcycle frame and used an electric cable hoist (of suitable capacity) to lift their bikes for maintenance instead of a motorcycle jack or lift table? It seems like a cost effect way of doing it....you could use jack stands to stabilize the bike, and as a safety system, but use the cable hoist to actually lift the bike. I like the idea of it as it doesn't take up shop floor space and if you strap it to the top of the motorcycle frame, the cable system is not in the way as much as a motorcycle jack. I know that a proper motorcycle lift table is the best set up....especially with the appropriate jack to lift the bike off of its wheels when necessary, but the ideal of an electric cable hoist to lift the bike is appealing to me. I would like other people's thoughts on this idea as well as either pictures of what they have used or other information regarding doing this. Thanks!! - Joseph Shaw
