Is there anyone out here running a dual carb setup on their CB750 SOHC? I am considering running a couple Mikuni carbs... any suggestion on size? I see Murrays Manifolds has a dual setup that is pretty clean. Thanks

I used to have one of those manifolds. I never used it, you need rather large carbs to feed 2 cylinders. I was also concerned with vibration as they mounted with just rubber tubes. Cabling is an issue as well, you gonna go backward & use a 2 to 1 cable set up? Keeping them synced will be a nightmare.

PWBII, curious about your statement. Why do you need a bigger carb than normal that feeds two intake manifolds? Cylinders 1 and 2 do not pull in fuel at the same time, so the carb doesn't need to provide any more fuel than what the cylinders need.

@ higher RPMs the time lag between the draw of each cylinder is so short, that some overlap can occur. to over come this a larger venturi should be used. I can't help you on the math as to how much bigger is advised. You still need the 14.7 to 1 air to fuel ratio to have the engine run right. It's a matter of having enough supply when the engine needs it. You don't want to run lean @ high RPMs.

no need to reinvent the wheel, the research has already been done. Cycle x runs 34mm mikunis in their kit as well as the correct throttle cable.

As long as it works. As I said I never tried them myself. I got the manifold I had from a friend who used to drag the 750s.
