What are the known mechanical issues with the DOHC 750 super sport models. I heard something about timing chains. Details and other issues would be apricated Trying to decide between dohc and sohc (1980 or 1978) I know the issues with the SOHC super sports

Timing chains secondary to sub-optimal tensioner design.
But if not "abused" in its life generally not a issue.
Race spec assembles are available.......(via Vince & Hyde)...but its not "plug and play"...I can send you the V&H manual if you want....
