On my 1971 K1 my brain is getting fuzzy.....my bike will try to start if I hit starter button when it’s in gear can’t recall if this is normal for a K1? Lurched and Jumped ahead on me today when I stopped and restarted and I almost tipped over
I dont have a clutch switch @ lever but as I recall this shouldn’t happen also my neutral lite works fine
I most always see neutral lite before hitting button or if I know it’s I gear I squeeze clutch
Today it almost bit me!!
I know later models have clutch switch and kickstand switch as well just can’t remember if it’s not part on K1 specs

Upon further forum digging and looking at wiring diagram I’m now straight that K1 s did not have any starter safety lock provision
Was having a senior moment in not remembering it was not in neutral and not remembering if it had it....duh!!!
This being my 5th different K bike in 50 years and @ 72 years young I like to say “ cheer up it’s only going to get worse”
Thanx Lash
