Newbie here and would appreciate some advice or opinions. Bought a 78 F model for a good price. It's been sitting for 2 or 3 years in a barn
with the carbs off. When I saw it and purchased it, there were rags stuffed in the ports. My friend who told me about the bike said they weren't
there when he looked at the bike. There were several dirt dobber clumps on the bike and I'm afraid they could possible be in the ports. The bike
is in pretty good shape and only has 12,000 miles on it, so I don't want to do anything to tear it up. Any advice on how to check or make sure
the ports are clear or what to do in case a dobber nest went down in there?

Got a shop vac? If it hasn't been kicked over, don't so nothing falls into the pistons when the valves open. Vacuum the intakes. Then open the valve covers, turn the motor till the intakes open, remove the plugs and vacuum again. Just a thought...
