Due to spending several years in a damp shed all the chrome on my project is going to need replating or replaced depending on cost of replating against replacement costs, anyway looking at the kickstart lever I imagine replating will be less than replacement, has anyone had theirs replated and what did you do with the spring loaded ball that stops the end flopping about?

Have you tried WD40 and quad zero steel wool ? Did wonders on my F2 , still need a new front guard , but got rid of a lot of the surface rust . Then I was put onto evaporust and I must say it works wonders

Unfortunately it's beyond polishing, lots of rust and chrome peeling off so replating it has to be.

Thanks though.
