I've got a rather scruffy aftermarket 4 int 1 exhaust for my F1 project, but alas no clamps or collets to hold the headers to the engine.
The finned clamps seem to be available second hand, but no collets to be seen.
David Silver Spares have got new genuine Honda ones at nearly £18 a piece with the dreaded VAT.
So that's £140+ just for the collets.
Is there anything available aftermarket, pattern, or adapted from another source that I could substitute instead ?
I'm hoping that long term F1 owners may know of a cheaper alternative here.

ebay is my go to for discontinued parts
Nowt doing at the moment.
Well not in the UK anyway.
Plenty of finned collars (just bought a used set) to be had, no split collets.
But looking at the Marshall header pipes I've just got my hands on, it's given me an idea.
If I can find some slightly larger diameter single skin headers of a similar design, I could cut off the flanged ends and then split them into two halves, creating my own collets.
Doubtful if I'll actually find four suitable header pipes, but maybe there's something else I could substitute.
Pieces of car exhaust are only priced in pennies compared with motorcycle stuff.

My project F1 came with a rotted out 4 into 1 of unknown manufacture which was only good as a pattern to make my own system up, I was able to salvage the collars and have welded them to the end of the header pipes and built up the end with more weld to form a sealing face for the copper rings.
Still a work in progress but here it is. 6A01B3E0-E153-451D-A27E-255DBEB5B754.jpeg7AA3D0D2-8EB6-423F-9115-CF00198DE961.jpeg9C33CF0D-5513-456E-BB70-7FD87E39A73F.jpeg585BD339-28D5-4B8B-A87E-80B661B9BA76.jpegC05D1611-E523-4517-BDD8-05DADA90CB99.jpeg

I'd guess if you could find some 35mm bore exhaust pipe then get someone to flare the end that would work for you, otherwise Delkovik seem to be the preferred option, I just like to be different!

I'm working on an idea for a crude sort of jig for flaring car exhaust pipe.
Car exhaust pipe is only pennies compared anything intended for a motorcycle.
Basically I just want something to clamp the tube while I peen it over with a two and a half pound hammer.
After that I can trim it up to suit.
TBH I'm not even sure that the original F1 collets would work with the header pipes I've got.

Grewth , it`s a pity I live down under , you could have mine . My pipes were very badly rusted at the head , so I put a delkevic 4 into 1 on my F2 and it doesnt use the collet style clamps . Much better setup and way less fiddley
