Hi I'm looking at putting a 4 in to 1 exhaust on my bike. I am getting told different things by different people . Can I just buy one and put it on the bike ? Or will I have to have the bike cabs set again ? Will it mean putting in bigger jets in the carbs ?
Thanks

I have the 4-1 D on one bike, OEM 4-4 on another bike, DIY 4-4 on another. All carbs the same, all run the same. Lately did a choke cable mod that changed that whole world, not that it was intolerable before.

Starting with the current Motion Pro with the three, almost non-existent, stamped in notches and approx. 2mm ball. I filed those notches .5mm deep and the same dia. as the ball with a round tapered needle file. The cable now STAYS in place. First notch barely raises engine, third notch is just right for starting.

I CAN FEEL THE THREE CHOKE POSITIONS AND THE CABLE STAYS WHERE I PUT IT

I put a Delkevic 4 into 1 pipe on my '79. Runs as well as it did before with no further tune-up. Sounds bad-assed too.
I wanted to add a link to the pipe as the one I purchased is different from the ones offered at a couple of other vendors.

Price is the same at the Delkevic site as at other external vendors but most of them don't carry the reverse cone style muffler. I think the reverse cone gives a much more "finished" look than either the megaphone or straight muffler designs, but maybe that's just me being anal.

When i purchased that system for my bike (3 years ago) reverse cone was not even offered so I went with megaphone.
i must admit, that design looks good...

Yeah, it seems that none of the usual online retailers carry this one. I didn't even know it existed until I went to the company website looking for some tech info prior to purchasing the megaphone design. Saw this offering and immediately changed my direction. The only difference I see is that the baffle is not easily removed to change the sound like the other 2 options. I'm an old guy so the quietest setup was always what I planned to use anyway.
