Cb750f 1976 carburetor problem

Hi, I just purchase the motorcycle, the chock and the idle screw was not responding. I removed the carburator clean it and put new kit. Then put it back on the motorcycle, tuned it with the vacuums gauges and the engine sound fine. I also adjust the points and the valves. But after all this the idle valve and the chock still has affect on the engine. Is somebody have this experience and give me some clue. All the 4 carb have the same behavier.

I haven’t received any replies yet. I’m sure someone has encountered the same carburetor problem and can offer some advice.

Hi David, when you balanced the carbs with the vacuum gauges what rpm were you running at? If you were at around say 1200 then you are off the idle system and running on the needle jets, if altering the idle screws has no affect the idle passages are probably blocked.
If you have stripped and cleaned the carbs I guess you would have seen if the chokes were present in the carbs? presuming they are when you operate the choke lever do the choke spades move up and down?
I have the UK version of the same bike and am nearing completion of a complete strip down and rebuild so can do what I can to help you out.
