Hi All - I've done the internet searches and still can't get a straight answer.....

Can I remove a broken and rattling baffle from my #3 exhaust pipe by simply removing the end cap?

I'm thinking "No".

Suggestions are most welcome - thanks!

OK - so here's a follow up on the fix just for the benefit of others................

You cannot remove the baffle on these pipes after simply removing the end cap. All you can do is remove the end cap and shake out all the rust and scaly pieces that are loose.

But in my case - that was not the issue..............

The pipe leading to the mufflers is double walled. In order to fix my problem you can drill 3 1/4" holes at the bottom of the pipe - piercing just into the next wall. Then take a welder and basically reattach the inner wall to the outer wall. My issue was the inner and outer walls vibrating against each other.

How long will it last? I have no idea. But it worked for now...........
