Hey everyone, I'm totally new to the forum. I've been getting and old 95' CB750 Nighthawk running again. I'm living a bit of a throttle cable nightmare.

On my other bikes, I never had an issue replacing cables. I made a mistake and three away the old ones because they were sticking and didnt think it would be hard to find new ones. I've now bought 3 sets of cables off various websites, all of which said they would fit, and none of them have. I feel like I'm going crazy. Replacing cables has never been this difficult for me so im thinking every set of cables I've recieved has been the wrong size, but I could be wrong. Any help sourcing a set of cables that would actually fit, or magic tricks to make the 3 sets I already have fit would be greatly appreciated.

I have a ‘92 nighthawk 750 and replaced both the push and pull cables with motion pro cables. They have a direct replacement but they are a touch longer than factory I believe. Plus I put a more flat motocross bar on it so they do protrude out the front a bit more but I tried to run them differently along the frame to take a longer route to help accommodate the extra length.

I remember mine sticking as well even with the new cable and it took some finessing to get it right. I noticed if any bends are too sharp it would cause the cable to bind so make sure all of your curves are smooth so nothing is being forced to make a bend. It sounds to me like this might be you’re issue as well if multiple cables are doing the same thing you may want to try connecting without routing them around the frame or anything and see if it works better then find a route that prevents any binding.

Motion pro also offers a custom cable service where they will build anything you want from scratch.
