Can someone help figure out what color this '78K is?

I've got a '78 750K that I'm trying to figure out what color it is. From what I can find the only two colors available in '78 for the K models is:

1978 US K-models
Excel Black: color code NH-57
Candy Alpha Red: color code R-9C-S​

The color on mine is more brown than red. I've looked up pics online for the '78 K models and I see the same color as mine. Is this supposed to be Candy Alpha Red?

I prefer my version, definately red!
Bright silver basecoat, two coats of red candy then 4 coats of 2K lacquer with the transfers after the second coat.

Hi mate thanks for the compliments, after a bad experience with premixed paint on a previous project so decided to go my own way and ended up with the red candy you see in the picture. I hadn't done candy before so had to make a few mistakes until I got it right but well pleased with the end result off the gun, I have a couple of nibs to buff out but not bad for a first attempt.
All I had was pictures in a magazine article to go off for the colour so can't really say if it's a good match or not for the original colour but I like it.

The F1 was supposed to be Candy Antares Red.
Not that it matters.
I suppose if the bike were a "sand cast" it would be of massive importance to the rivet counters.
Grahams paintwork looks wonderful, especially compared to some of my previous rattle can efforts.
I've noticed that some of Honda's paint descriptions contain an element of "artistic licence"
My K1 -K4 hybrid is allegedly Boss Maroon Metallic, but from what's left of the original paint, and photos I've seen of other K4's, I'd swear it was Purple.
Maybe I'm going colour blind in my old age ?

Candy Antares was what my VFR 750 was supposed to be but the paint I bought was so poor I had to respray the whole bike and although it looked good when finished no way was it a candy finish!

Nah. I'm old too but I've always thought Boss Maroon looked purple.
