Simplified measurement of Cam chain "A" and "B", and Primary Shaft chain.
Honda 1980 CB750F Supersport and others.
Put chain on a flat surface and push the centres together.
I used an engineers ruler to keep the chain straight
Measure total length.
The following measurements are from brand new chains out of the box.
Exhaust Cam Chain "A" 390mm Pitch 6.5mm
Inlet Cam Chain "B" 256mm Pitch 5.5mm
Primary Shaft Chain 225mm
Please note this was my method only as I wanted an easier way to quickly compare my used chains with new.
The workshop method frankly had whiskers on it..( apologies to my bearded friends)
