I have a particular issue with my 1974 cb750. The right blinkers stopped working last year and I used hand signals to get me through the ridding season. I’m not sure if everyone remembers the right hand signals so I’m reluctant to ride much plus I need to pass a vehicle inspection.
So here’s what I’ve found:
Color code wires were backwards in the rear so I fixed that.
If I disconnect the front blinkers everything works including the “gage” blinkers oindicator..
When I plug in the left front it will work but only after I’ve started the rear blinker. If I plug in the right front into the left plug it will also work the same way as the left one described above.
If I plug either side into the right wire plugs ( blue wires) the rear stops working as well.
Thinking that it was a bad winker relay I tried a new one and then nothing worked. Back to original one.
Not sure what I should try next.
It doesn’t seem to be a complex system based the wire diagram but it’s got me stumped.

Since you already had a wire problem with the back signals I would check the rest of the signal wiring to verify all is correct. Also make sure that the signals have good grounding.

Problem solved. The previous owner used an electronic winker relay for led type lights. The oem lights drew too much power and thus caused the intermittent results with only one light illumination it would be OK when you get up to three conventional light bulbs sometimes it just pulled too much juice..
I replaced the winker with a higher powered adjustable relay and things just all went to normal.
Yea.
