I own a 1979 Honda CB750L. It runs, but poorly. I done some work on brakes, new tires.
Tank has some small scratches and dents, but looks good overall. Leaks oil when running
and ignition side cover full of oil (seal). Kerker 4:1 exhaust and sissy bar. Seat intact but rear Honda
emblem faded. New petcock and filter. Any ballpark ideas as to its value repaired and restored?
Thanks in advance!!!

The guys above are pretty good with pricing.

And I just don’t understand it.
I mean, any dohc will eat a sohc for lunch.
And yet you hear of the 69 sand casts going for 15k.

Only thing i can think of is the guys that were 16 to say 25 in 1979 haven’t hit that golden age yet. That is retired with the time
and money that can actually get that bike he yearned for or had.

The nostalgia factor.

I dunno. I’ve got 2 of them.
A 79 SS. And an 82k.
Both rough, but both survivors, unmolested with OEM paint.

I’m just holding on to them.
Parked in storage.
Hopefully the price will rise.
Like stocks or bonds.

At what price would I maybe sell?
I dunno.
5 to 7k. Each.
Maybe.

But then again, I’ve been informed,
by my better half, I have a disease.
Bikeitis she calls it.

Tells me, nobody needs 5 motorcycles.
I’ll never sell any of them.
But that it’s ok, she understands.
Like that old Dylan song,
she knows what need,
and what it is I want🙂
