Hey guys it’s my first post here. I would love to search this I’m sure it’s been covered time and time again but I couldn’t figure out how to search here and google didn’t give me any valid results. I have a 77 cb750k that’s torn to pieces my first issues are the top half of the case was welded and a grinder was used to prep the mating surface so I’ll find a new one there. Someone welded the front sprocket onto the shaft so again just replacing that part no big deal. The biggest issue I’m having is I’d like to kong the frame. I own a fab shop in Arizona so the fabrication part of it isn’t a big deal but I’m looking for ideas of where to locate the oil tank and battery and keep them together if possible. I’d like to keep my new oil tank the same size or I’d imagine larger would even be better for cooling purposes here in the az heat. What’s the Preffered volume of oil for it? How small have people gone with oil tanks and still having a happy motor? I haven’t cut the frame yet as I want to have the process planned out before I do just in case I need to change my plans for the chop.

You can't just replace one half of the cases. They are machined as a set so you will need to have a matching set of cases, not just replace the top half. I'm not familiar with the phrase "kong the frame" so I can't comment on that.

Well that is really good information I’ll make sure to find a set to replace the case. A kong frame and it may not be the proper term is cutting the frame and lowering the seat into where the battery and oil tank are basically making a soft tail chopper
