Have 73 CB 750 and seem to have issue with battery keeping a charge. Stator checked out ok and have replaced rectifier/regulator combo. Battery only 4 months old. Will fully charge battery and within a week or so volt reading will show about 12.20 volts. I only ride about 10 to 15 miles per week. Can a bad negative battery connection possibly be causing issue? Should I be running bike more? Thanks

Have you disconnected the battery and see if the battery holds a charge? New means new, new doesnt mean good. The sohc doesnt charge much or very fast. It is normal for the 750 to be at a state of discharge at idle especially with the headlight on. A bad connection wont cause a draw. A bad connection could cause the charge not to get to the battery in theory but it should cause it not to crank or crank very slow if it is a bad connection. Pretty easy to clean connections so that would be first thing to check along with making sure the battery is in fact good.
