In light of the availability of good quality points and condensers I've been looking into electronic ignition units, of the well known manufacturers there only appears to be two main players for these units, Dyna and Boyer Bransden. I have no experience of either other than I remember BB from my youth replacing points etc on the Triumphs, Notons and BSA's of the day with great success and kindly note my residence in the UK before suggesting units which need to be imported. 1977 CB750F1.

Many thanks

In light of their pedigree and the fact that they are British I think I'll probably go with Boyer Bransdon if I do take that route then if I have any issues I will be dealing with a company in this country rather than from abroad. I haven't got to the running stage yet so will see how that goes and take it from there.

The Boyer is really good. I put a system on a BSA 650 and it transformed the running. However, to get it started the battery has to be fully charged. Do that and starting is easy. The advance curve is what made the running so nice. (I also seem to remember changing the coils to 6 volt as there would be less resistence in the circuit.) Might be different on the 750f1

Hi mate, thanks for the info, I remember them from my early days, I was always glad my Triumph was magneto ignition, far more reliable than the early Lucas coil and points set up which were a step back from the maggy!
