Has anybody noticed there 15 amp fuse getting very hot when bike is idling ? Also noticed when I check the fuse for volts I have 12.3 when I turn the key on it drops to 11 volts . I just was able to get it running it sat for roughly 35 years and was outside for 6 months of that . Sorry it’s a 78 CB 750 .
Love the site been very helpful getting this up and going .

Thanks Todd

Brand new battery? Did you charge it first?

Current passes through a several earthing/grounding points and a lot of switches and connections. The effect of 40-50 years can easily introduce a significant cumulative resistance. I've been going through every switch, connection, plug and earthing point I can find on my '76 750. Some corrosion, lots of oil and grime. I also had to replace my key/ignition switch, due to a failed joint, which refused to stay re-soldered. The fuse holder needed a good clean up too.

First off thank you .
Yes brand new battery fully charged .The kill switch was really mucked up cleaned it . Also now I noticed the front blinkers are on dim but they blink brighter ????

I'm not an electrician, but if the fuse is getting hot, that's telling me there's a resistance there when there should not be.
Maybe you've got a bad fuse with an internal resistance, but more likely it's the connection between the fuse and the holder contacts

Need a little more help with the key on my both front turn signal come on dim and have been looking at the diagram and can’t figure what would make only the front two turn signals come on dim . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They are 3 watts as compared to the blinkers 25 . If you are using incandescent lights , maybe just old . I cannot see my high beam light , even with new bulbs

I never got to see them . When I got my bike I stripped it almost right away to restore it and rewired it aussie style ( no running light in the blinker ) But they are a 3 watt bulb on a very old bike and the reflector could be a bit second hand

So you think it’s possible they are running light and should come on dim when the key is turned on ? Sorry about the dumb questions. Just not sure .

Yes , that is how they are set up for america . You have the 2 blinker running lights and headlight on fulltime . And as they are only a very low wattage , I could see how they would look very dim .
