I’ve got a ‘79 LTD and I’m having carb issues. They have been rebuilt with new carb kits. The issues are, idle erratic, acceleration off idle is sluggish, idle level is subject to engine temperature.
I checked the accelerator pump which doesn’t spray any fuel when the throttle is opened, does work if I remove the bowl and fill it up with fuel and activate the rod manually. The pump rail to the carbs is clear, used air to check for spray from nozzles. I hope this description isn’t too confusing. Any suggestions? Thanks.
