I was able to find one of these bikes but have not bite the bullet to purchase yet, the work that is needed to have it road ready is what I'm questioning..

What would be ballpark price range for this version bike 93 Nighthawk blue that's been sitting in say barn for years.
basic Maintenance has been kept up aka (charge battery, oil change, seafoam gas changed) driven around yard,
fork seals good, slight dents to tank (1 drop), worm gear speed sensor needs changing, needs new tires,
carb 1 needs a drain plug leaks when valve is on.....
not road ready bike at all
looks like $1000 +/- worth of repairs.

is it worth listing price of $2000.00CDN

I'd like to repair it make it road ready as i like this model but I think price is too high??

let me know what you all think - Thanks

It's what I like. The later engines had that chain driven starter setup and other things I didn't like. But, besides that the one he is looking at is way too much money for a project, because that is what it will turn into.

Thanks everyone for this input I appreciate it
It would become road ready if worth the repair and project after…92’-93 fits with what I want to do

If you have to pay someone to do the work for you then I would suggest buying one that is ready to go. What is it you want to do that the '92-93 is a better choice?

I understand it’s guts are all the same but theirs is some modular difference 92-93 version ..just simply drawn to it

Seller wants 1800 cdn so I’m sitting on fence until he replies or keeps posting lower lol

I’ll post a pic of say bike tomorrow 🤘

The engines are completely different, with nothing being the same. I saw the bike you are looking at on Kijiji and it is not worth anything close to $1800 Cdn. If it was a bike that you could ride home with no issues then $1800 would be good.

Hey I agree if it was road ready and I could drive it home I would bite at 1800

Thing is it’s not mechanically ready, if you read body of the ad, it needs 1000 worth of repair upon purchase so that’s why I’m questioning how much is reasonable…I’d cave probably closer to 1000$ but we’ll see keep browsing for now lol

This seller won’t budge at all.
Man I wish I could find a 92-93 version of this bike, even cb650. I’ll keep looking for my needle in the haystack

I walked away from a bike for $750. I could have fixed it and still been ok, but I didn't want to break even. Especially with a basket case that takes work in addition to money.
The willingness to walk away is huge. That bike you looked at will sit there for a while.
