92 nighthawk mods?

Lmfao……wouldn’t have had spark if I had would I? I got it to start one time but only ran for about 30 seconds then decided it wanted to rev as high and fast as possible so then I did hit the kill switch. After that I killed the battery put it on charge then went out and killed it again. No start. Might go push it off and pop the clutch to see if that works. Idk…… never shoulda started messing with it. This damn bike is a lot more difficult than I had expected.

Lol, No, you wouldn't. It wasn't clear to me if you knew you had spark or assumed it. Had to ask. It has burned a few of us.
I've been there. But stick with it, it sounds to me like you have the knowledge to make that bike run.
That increasing idle is a symptom of a vacuum leak.

Where should I look for leaks? I’m gonna try to pull the carbs back off tonight. Maybe I got something stuck in the jets or something when I was cleaning the carbs.

Cracked boots or bad seals between the carb and engine.
I don't think I've seen it before, but if a butterfly/plate on a carb(s) is stuck open, that will make the revs race up

Well I decided to stop stumbling over issues while working on the last or next… pulled the engine out of the frame to pull it apart. Idea was to go ahead and find and fix everything I could. Might be more than I can manage but we’ll see.here’s some pics of what I got so far.

I’ve ordered a set of 34mm pwk carbs. Should’ve asked before ordering but will they work on my bike? I assumed they would so ordered them but every time I assume something about this bike I’m dead wrong lmao.

Everything I’ve looked at says they are. It’s a 92 nighthawk 750. Figured I’d try them out since I don’t really like the cv carbs. Did just rebuild the cv carbs but ain’t put them on the bike or synced them yet

Found one from air tech inc. for $13. Now once I get new cables I’ll be ready to install everything. Now just gotta get the bike put back together. It’s mainly a pile of parts in my shop right now. After pulling the motor out any taking it apart to replace all the gaskets and changing carbs painting engine and frame and wheels. Changing fork seals maybe it’ll be good to go when it’s back together
