Well, Thursday was the day that it became time to do my shifter spindle/rod replacement chore. All tools were accounted for and all parts needed were on hand. It should have been a fairly straight-forward and replace operation. It absolutely was not that at all. Thursday ended with failing to be able to get the screws out of the neutral switch. those came right out on friday morning and left me fighting the two bolts on the bottom of the shifter housing cover behind the frame rail and the kickstand bracket for another most enjoyable day. Saturday I finally got the thing all cracked open and pulled out the old spindle. Testing ended with bike not wanting to go in or out of gear and seemingly only having two gears to work with as well. Sunday was retrace steps and fix shit day. Failed. Shit was all locked up. And then again today i tore it all down an d put it all back and the mother fudger wont even come out of whatever gear it is stuck in.
I really need some help here folks. Someone has had to have come across this same set of problems and can give me some insight. I have been fighting this issue for months and been shifting with vise grips for 4 weeks. My bike is my only transportation. I NEED SOME HELP!!!!
