1981 cb750k gas cap

I’ve got a 1981 cb750k that I’ve been restoring, but I can not find a cap for my fuel tank. I’ve tried using the cb750c cap but that is to short and leaves about an inch of a gap between the tanks can cap. Any suggestions on welding a flange on to the gas tank hole to fit a different type of cap? Or should I keep looking for a cap that fits

Keep looking for a cap that fits. Especially if resale is important to you.
Have you checked ebay or the cb750 sites?
