i bought kind of a basket case 1981 CB750 custom. The person before me rhinolined the outside of the tank and I am pretty sure it also has some pin holes in it. He gave me a used tank from about a 1980 CB750k with the deal. As I have tried to mount the tank i noticed that it does not fix up very well at the rear. Seems like the rear bolt mount is at a different angle and it seems like it is hitting somewhere. I looked at my other 1980 CB750k that I own and it definitely looks a little different in the mount on the rear. Has anyone does this gas tank conversion before? Any help would be appreciated.
