1980 CB750C Custom

Purchased the bike two weeks ago. Throttle wouldn’t turn at all and front brake didn’t work.

Rebuilt carbs, rebuilt master cylinder, new tires, new battery, got it running last night.

Went to take it for a very short test ride after work today and realized the clutch is not working at all...bike on the center stand put it in gear and wheel spins...off the center stand lurches forward (with clutch pulled) and dies...

Bike was garage kept very clean 3k original miles on it...

Just wondering if any gurus can tell me where to start?

It would be helpful. Clutches are stuck from lack of use. If you can't break them loose you have to take clutch apart.

Know if any good techniques for breaking it loose?

I’ll try that before I take it apart...

If I do have to take it apart what parts would you recommend replacing?

I've always been able to get them loose. No tricks just keep popping it in gear, at some point it comes loose. You don't change any parts taking it apart; simply relube all and put it back together.

Zip tied the clutch left it overnight came home put it on the center stand and dropped it into first with the clutch pulled a few times...

Didn’t work the first night but the second night it did! Just took my first ride and it was beautiful (and cold) the 750s really pull...
