Hi everyone, I bought a CB750 and restoring it. I don’t know a lot about motorcycles but it seemed a worthwhile project. I am looking at the ignition system and the one on mine doesn’t look like any other I have seen. Don’t know if I have inherited a Frankenstein bike but I have seen the bike running and took it for a ride. Can anyone tell me what this is from?

Its some sort of aftermarket electronic ignition. Doesnt look like a good one either. Looks like it eliminates the ignition advance. I would go to a dyna setup or even points. Either way you will need to get a stock ignition advancer assembly.

Thanks for your insight Dirtdigger, I didn’t like the look of it and will do as you recommend. Plenty of other thinks that have been hobbled onto the bike because there are no spares where I am. Thanks again.

Hi Madmtnmotors, here are som more pictures. It is quite dirty and needs cleaning but I just noticed a brand TEC Japan on the top when I rubbed my finger on it. Still no luck on google for that ignition. Cheers
