Hello team, I have just joined the forum as I am putting together a 1977 Honda CB750F2.
I was wondering if anyone here can help me?
I am after the trim and fittings circled in the attached parts drawing.
If these are not available at all, I am keen to know what other people have used to overcome this.
All help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Malc

I had to buy a complete seat/tail unit from a breakers in order to get those trims.
I've got perfect side trims now, but the wrap around one is damaged and missing an end clip, so I'm still not 100% there yet.
It's worth noting that not all the plastic tail pieces had a moulded lip for that trim, some didn't, and would look perfectly OK without the trim fitted

Thank you for this mate, I'm hoping the guy I got the bike from has got it in a box in his shed somewhere. If not, I might have to improvise.

I tried to find some for a while when doing mine . No luck what so ever , so good luck with that . Like grewth said , try a wrecker/breaker and see if you can get some good old ones . David silver may have some or CMSNL . If you get some the colour strip is only a stick on pinstripe , so you can get another colour and either use a pin stripe or paint it . In the end I just cut mine evenly and fitted what I had

Thank you, useful photo too.

Now that's interesting !
I hadn't looked closely at that photo of the F2/F3 seat, but the side trims on the seat I bought run the whole length of the seat.
I don't know if you can quite make it out (the photo is from the original ebay listing)

Grewth , yes they are meant to go right across , front to back along the bottom edge of the seat , Mine came cut off and uneven with a different seat cover that was crap . I had an original F2 in the 70`s , brand new . Wish I could have kept it

I've had a lot of bikes like that.
The 18 month old GT750 I bought in '78 when I was just 18 years old.
The Honda CB750F1 back in '92, and the 550F from '93 to '99.
Here in the UK, at least you can check to see if the vehicle is still on the DVLA system, and when it was last in use.
Can you access that information in Australia ?

Possibly , but I wouldnt want that bike again . The shop I bought it brand new from wrecked it and it seized a cam after they had to change the valve guides because they failed within 3 mths of purchase . Would love my 1977 1200 laverda that I had for 24 yrs , back . Sold it in 2003 for $5000 aussie dollaroos and was offered it back last year for $22000 , yeah nah thanx mate

Just saw a post on bookface about someone who restores seats . It is " bobs general service " you might have some luck with that

I have just purchased this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111474236893 and it seems to be a good fit for the chrome trim. The button fittings for the chrome strips could be made reasonably easily, I think the thread is M3, bit fiddly I know but a disc of thin steel sheet braze/silver solder a stud cut from a screw? that's my plan, I have a couple but need a few more.

Was going to suggest that type of stripping/capping . It may not look exact to a purist , but it will look good enough which is the aussie way . I had similar on my laverda`s jota fairing , it works well , and I was going to use it if my old trim wasnt reusable . But it was , phew , the seat had only the last 3 bolt/fasteners left in the tail and none for the seat . So trimming it up worked for me

Last week I ordered £5.55 worth of the finest plastic chrome trim that the Great People's Republic can purvey.
Trouble is it's a bit smaller (probably just over half the size) than Mr Honda's original trim.
Never mind, it does look quite decent once I'd persuaded it to fit.
I fitted my one (RH) end clip as a comparison of the sizes.
