1971 Cb750 build

Started this build at the end of the lockdown period. Going through every bolt and nut, new wiring harness, the entire bike at one point was sprayed flat black by the PO. Here are the pics of what I have done and what I am doing. Some of these parts are not cheap/easy to find! This is not my first build or Honda. I will post some more things as I go. Did the PO spray the rotor too?? You weren't kidding when you said they painted the entire bike!

Everything had black on it! Didn’t take anything off just sprayed it. Grips has paint on them a bit haha

You don't say what you intend. Are you going back to stock? Or some sort of custom? I have some suggestions, but they depend on which way you want to go. There are some major differences between the (late '70', '71' & '72') & ('73' - '76') models

I can't tell from your pics, but check & make sure this bike hasn't thrown a chain in the past & damaged the cases around the countershaft sprocket. It's a common occurrence with these engines. You should have a chain guide around the countershaft sprocket on your model to prevent this, but a lot of folks remove them.

I have all covers on and also will be putting on the chain guard on. It will be sort of a resto mod build, just updated everything.

She's looking good, I have just finished my own rebuild of a 1980 CB750 K, An American import to the UK, which it took me 18 months to complete whilst working at the same time on an xj900 Yamaha, also an import from the USA,

Yeah I have an orginal Yamaha xs650 1976 I restored along side as this. Too much add for one project! Haha

Nice engine in the XS, they made some cool choppers back in the day. Boy I'm gettin old.
