i've been having trouble trying to find the dowel pins that go in the cylinder head on my 1977 750 hondamatic. i went to my local vintage cycle shop and they were able to find a couple off a bike of another make which were only one millimeter longer than the original dowel pins that were in my...
Hello Everyone,
I've got a '91 CB750 DOHC that I was in an accident with a few months ago. It has been running fine until recently, despite the accident, but the front end is bent and and few things are broken. Unfortunately, I'm in school so my budget is tight to say the least. Does anyone...
A Marine just informed me that he liked my '77 XS650 project more than what he was building- or having me build- from his bike. He bought a 750F with the intention of just getting it on the road and then adding aesthetics later. His original plan was to build it as a Super Sport again. Now he...
The previous owner of the 72 750Four had it re-wired in a very slipshod manner (example a stripped ground from the battery braided around a frame bolt, a toggle switch jury-rigged to an attached plate on the handlebars) and he had also dismantled much of it throwing it all in the boxes...
Last weekend I finally got around to ripping into my 75 CB750 K that I bought from cyclebuster.
Tanks, carbs and seat off... man is this bike crusty.
Started with the exhaust. Everything just started to crumple into dust as I took them off. Unfortunately, the four inside exhaust spigot...
Hi, I"m looking for a standard size stock 78 CB750K piston. I found out that they are not available from Honda. In a effort to remove a seized ring I took a chunk out of mine. Of coarse its the one part keeping me from my complete rebuild. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Dean
I've been wanting to start a thread about my K6 but have been putting it off until somebody asked me about it. I don't have all of my pictures since my last computer died so I'll have to start when I'm into the project a bit.
Here's the story behind the bike.
When I was 18 somebody I knew had...
I just recently found this site. I'm sure I'll be back many times! I'm resurrecting my 78 750F after 20 years in storage. I was going to part it out but there are a lot of older bike clubs in the area and the guys said "get it running and ride" This will be my big winter project..haha.
Hi Guys, I just joined this group. I have a 79 CB750k that I bought in the summer to restore and ride.
I have just got my collector plates and noticed a small oil leak when I finished riding. I bought some new seals for the
shifter anf the front sprocket. I pulled the side covers off and had no...

OK I got to talking in another thread about what I should do with my bike. Since I didn't start the other thread I figure I'd start one and see what you guys have to say. What would you do? First let me start by saying this will be the first time I've ever worked on a bike. I'm not a mechanic. I...
before i disassemble my wheels for powder coating and polishing are there any suggestions to doing it or leave them together.. they appear to be easily taken apart and put back together .. they are off a 77 cb750 F ..
ok guys this is my first post so sorry if this has already been answered in another post. I bought a 1982 CB750 nighthawk a couple days ago. This will be my first motorcycle and my first rebuild. I have it stripped down to the frame and rear tire (so its easier to roll in and out of the garage)...

Ok all Bretheran Enthusiasts, One and all are welcome here and I want to get some feedback from do it yourselfers to the professed professional body/paint mechanic out there. I'm trying to establish a sub category if you will that encompasses the painting refinishing of your bikes. Do you do it...
So the mistake I made was asking "so how much for all three?" 75 CB750F 24K miles, 77 CB750K 28K miles and an 86 CB450SC Nighthawk thrown in. Most of the pieces are there - just ugly! I think I'll sell off the 450, rob the K of parts, sell the rest and build the F Supersport into a cafe...
Howdy! I am newbie here and in motorcycles in general. I am about to purchased a Honda CB750 on Craigslist.
Here is the link

Now, I am specifically looking for the F version as I would like to turn this bike into a cafe in the future.
So...
It looks like there are 3 major kinds of tank sealers:
Kreem
POR 15
Red Kote
I need to put a sealer in my tank. Has anybody used these? Any opinions on which is best and easiest to use?
Thanks!
...or not.
I bought this non-running 82 CB750K with the sole intent of parting it out. After I got it home though, I was having second thoughts. It really wasn't half bad and I was guessing that all it really needed was a carb clean.
I've done a fair amount of work to it PRIOR to addressing...
Looking for some advise on the disassembly of the engine on my 1975 cb750. I started out just wanting to do the timing chain, tensioner and guide (and gaskets of course). Once I had the engine out and the cams out I unbolted the head. This is where things got complicated, as I lifted off the...
NAKANOYA is a big name in the UJM restoration business. I knew of him primarily because his metalworking skills were featured in a Z-1/Z-2 specific magazine. Needless to say, he is HUGE in the Honda SOHC world here in Japan.
Lots of pix, so rather than posting them all here, I'll post a link...
NISHIMATSU is run by Mr. Nishimatsu Jr., with his father Mr. Nishimatsu Sr. (naturally) being the ace mechanic. Their work is so good, they have done a lot of the work restoring the bikes kept at the Honda Collection Hall located at Twin Rings Motegi. The yellow CB750 is Mr. N-Jr's personal...
YAMIYA is also located in Nagoya. I didn't get the same level of access as I did at the two other shops so no back room photos. YAMIYA makes parts and works on bikes. The shop is located in the same building as the showroom, but up on the second floor.
The "white" bike is a local Nagoya...
Since I have the engine case changed out due to a hole in my old one I thought I'd ask my fellow members here on CB750.com what you all would do to/with your engine while it's apart?
First, I'm not going to crank up the hp's in any way, I'll keep it stock for durability.
Since I haven't even...
Low mile (4K) survivor, going to buy it Thursday, and it has title so I'll know then, but what year is it? Owner says it should be black (tank was replaced) Help!:confused:
I've started sanding my front forks by hand. So far so good, I plan on taking the grits up 320, 600, 900+ as needed. I've seen on Youtube people finish with a polishing wheel on a drill. Has anyone done this and what were the results? Open to suggestions as my forks are badly oxidized.
Thanks
Hey guys, I thought I'd start a thread where we could post pictures of inspirational CB750s. You know, the ones you see and think "hey that's cool, I should build one of those..." or "I should buy one of those..."
