I just rebuilt the carbs on my '70. FWIW... Yamiya recommended going to the 110 main jet instead of the 120 with the clip on the middle position of the needle. Also I drilled out the top holes (A) on the emulsion tubes to 1mm to allow a little more air to the fuel/air mix. Also note the slow...
Was everything working OK prior to the latest work performed? May need to do some maintenance / cleanup / lubrication on the caliper / piston. Or maybe the piston is hanging / jammed up?
You will have a blast riding it. Its like driving a classic car around. You will get many looks and thumbs up :) Even people who are not motorcycle people look, stare, and want to talk to you. The bikes are beautiful and pleasing to the eye. I had always wanted one. It took me 50+ years to get...
Sounds like a fuse is blown or there is a bad or open connection between the battery - and frame (ground) and battery + and fuses, solenoid, etc.
Check all connections. Maybe remove connections and terminals and freshen them up.
Are the carb cables adjusted properly at the carb tops?
Are the mixture screws set properly?
Are the idle screws set properly?
Do the carb slides open and close together?
Do the carb slides bottom at the idle screw simultaneously?
Have you synced the carbs?
Do you have vacuum leaks?
Do you have...
Thank you Maury! re: your offer... certainly in the ballpark of where I would be. Without seeing pics and having much more info its really hard to say. That being said I will go out on a limb and say my initial impression was thinking $4800 - totally off the top of my head. I would love to see...
Yes the cost of parts is in the stratosphere. I'm pretty sure exhaust pipes can be chromed. Might depend on the specific facility.
Regarding posting pics... The only site I'm somewhat familiar with is Google Drive. I believe you can post pics there and provide a link to the folder.
Any chance to post a couple pics? Guess it depends on what you plan to do with it. What is being asked for it? Could easily throw $20k+ in parts, motor, chroming etc. at it. Check Bring a Trailer for recent prices that others have sold for this summer. However the market has turned some since...
Sounds like you took a step backwards after you changed the plugs. Maybe there is an issue with plug wires or caps? Did you install correct plugs? I might go back to the old plugs, get it running and go from there.
I am not familiar with your bike. I have a '70 K0 750. I changed my front sprocket to 19T and rear sprocket to 43T and changed my speed and RPM by 25%. Of course the torque changes as well. I bought the 19T front sprocket from Cycle X and the rear sprocket from Summit Racing JTSprockets. You can...
Check to make sure you don't have a vacuum leak where the gauge vacuum lines connect to the vacuum ports. The ports might be stripped and the gauge nipples might not be sealing.
I have been using AGM battery in my Harley for several years. It has worked well. Lots of cranking amps. Just today I am about to replace the Yuasa flooded battery that is in my 750 with an Interstate AGM. I like that the AGM are sealed. No acid to overflow.
Have you checked the alternator/charging system? Might be a long shot. Check the battery voltage with the bike running and at a few thousand RPM's. At higher RPM's the battery voltage should be around 14+ volts. At idle the voltage will probably drop. Check the voltage with the headlight on and...
