You mentioned lightening crankshaft. I kinda on the fence keep the rotating mass for little lower end or lighten for better top end . was considering first level lightening offered by cyclex, But i think i would stay with standard weight rotor. Also you said regulated rpm for the rods. As cyclex...

Thanks again for your time in replying Dirtdigger. I agree a fresh mill would give most hds a fit but once we shift into fourth and there is another 10 mile of straight lightly traveled road in front. With my untouched 78ss after 3rd buddy would leave me. Cams. i know the joys of running over...

Thanks for your insight. The reason for that big is i ride with 113hd bike n wanna easily keep up. The 73 head to keep compression up. Since you are familiar with cyclex the cam in question was their hellcat1 cam. In your opinion an 836 with the 78 head be a better cchoice.Which cam?

Thoughts. Thinking about giving cyclex a stack if money. Send them a 78 lower end 73 cylinder and head. They send me back a complete mill sporting 970ccs 12.5:1 comp. Running hard weld rockers beehive springs .4 lift cam 263 deg duration. Enlarged intake ports with 34mm carbs. I hardly see...

    7a tail fuse

Hello trim. Some on here suggest that the wires inside the tach or speedo could be at fault. If you want a dirty way to find your issue wrap the fuse in foil. A spent .22 case works as well. A direct short will show up with either smoke or hot wire. Be quick on the key. Good luck

    Final gear ratio

Thanks dirtdigger. It stone stock 750sohc guessing 25k miles. Too much conflicting info on the net lol. I know with my 78 ss 17/45 runs around 4300 at 60. But who goes that slow. It was much happier closer to 5000. Some say 60 at 4000 is high

    Final gear ratio

Hellos Buddy working on a 74 cb750sohc chop. He wants to run a 16inch rear. Rough figuring a 10 percent size difference i suggested a 18/41 drive set. Would that be too tall of gearing

Tail light speedo tack light fuse blows

Check the tail light bulb. It should be a dual filament. PO could have stuck a single in there. The correct bulb should have two contacts on bottom

    What is this

If i remember the shop's name right i got two choices. A Honda dealer turned Harley dealer or a shop that specialized in building drag engines mainly for cars though i was told they did a few bike motors. I guess i will have to wait till spring to find out what it can do.

    What is this

Hello. i recently purchased an cb750 told it was stroked out to 880. Research suggests it is not. But the real question is the serial number on the case. The pad has not been altered. The number is IDA2988another digit. In my limited research i have not found anything like this. What gives? Yes...
